S5PA - Dress Code

 

To maintain a professional learning environment, all dancers must adhere to the following dress code. Proper dance attire ensures ease of movement, safety, and allows instructors to provide corrections effectively.

 

Ballet & Tap Classes

Shoes:

Tap: Tan tap shoes

Ballet: Pink ballet slippers

Attire:

Dancewear and tights in pink, black, or tan

Leotards, skirts, and tutus are permitted

Street clothes are NOT permitted

Lyrical, Jazz & Tap Classes

Shoes:

Tap: Tan leather lace-up tap shoes

Jazz: Tan leather jazz shoes

Attire:

Dancewear and tights of choice

 

Street clothes are NOT permitted

Lyrical, Contemporary & Technique Classes

Shoes:

Tan leather turners (barefoot allowed, but shoes will be required at times)

Attire:

Dancewear and tights of choice

Street clothes are NOT permitted

Strength & Conditioning / Stretch Classes

Shoes:

Strength & Conditioning: Tennis shoes

Stretch: Barefoot

Required Equipment:

Ankle weights, two yoga blocks, stretch bands, and a yoga mat

Attire:

Form-fitting dancewear

Hair must be secured up—NO exceptions unless otherwise notified

Bee Bop / Hip Hop Classes

Shoes:

Sneakers

Attire:

Dancewear of choice (street clothes may be worn over dancewear)

Ballet & Pointe Classes

Shoes:

Pink ballet slippers or pointe shoes

Pointe shoes must be professionally fitted and require approval from the ballet instructor before purchase

Attire:

Black leotard with pink tights (ballet skirts are allowed)

Hair must be neatly secured in a bun—NO exceptions unless otherwise notified

Tumbling Classes

Shoes:

Barefoot

Attire:

Form-fitting dancewear Hair must be secured up—NO exceptions unless otherwise notified

Adaptive Dance: Special Needs Dance Class

Any attire that allows for comfort and flexibility while ensuring the students can fully participate in the class

​

Marching Classes

Shoes:

Tennis shoes or marching boots

Attire:

Dancewear of choice (street clothes may be worn over dancewear)

S5PA Competition Team Rehearsals/Classes

Attire:

Solid black dancewear and appropriate shoes must be worn at all times

Hair must be secured up—NO exceptions unless otherwise notified

 
Street clothes are NOT permitted
